Wanted: Apartment to rent in Manhattan

Hi,
I'm due to be working in the Manhattan area of New York as of December
2004.

I am looking for an apartment to rent for 1 year.

Ideal areas would be (but others considered):
Upper East Side
Upper West Side
Midtown East
Gramercy Park

Must be at least 1 (real) bedroom, ideally 2 and must be able to get
high speed internet access (for my work). I will pay a good rent for
the right property, up to $2000 a month for the ideal place.

I'm a UK resident (a graduate and professional person) who will look
after the place I live in.

If anyone knows of an apartment that is available please contact me.

$2k/month _might_ get you a 1 bedroom. Your best bet is to get in touch
with an agent. Then you can get an idea of what apartments in the
neighborhoods you are interested in really rent for.
